EUROCAE Awards 2023

The European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE) has announced the winners of the 2023 Awards, which were presented during their Gala Dinner at the Air and Space Museum at Le Bourget on 26 April 2023, as part of the 60th-anniversary celebrations of EUROCAE. Two of the winners, Jörn Jakobi and Mark Brown, are part of the remote tower working group within EUROCAE.

Remote and Virtual Towers Working Group

Jörn Jakobi received the “Working Group Leadership Award”. In their press release EUROCAE states that “Mr. Jakobi immediately took responsibility as Chair of WG-100 Remote and Virtual Towers when it was created. He’s been Chair ever since and his work is pivotal for the success of this group.”

Mark Brown was awarded the “International Award”. About him, EUROCAE says “Being a member of the Japanese ENRI, the Electronic Navigation Research Institute, Mr. Brown active contributed to WG-78 Standards for Air Traffic Data Communications Services in the development of the ATN Baseline 2 Standards for air-ground data link and has been an active member of WG-100 Remote and Virtual Towers since its creation.”
